One of the main reasons I have taken breaks from coin collecting over the years is due to my struggle in finding a way to display/keep my coins that I like. I prefer having coins in a book of some kind which allows me to view them in a convenient way. This was fine when my main focus was US coins...as there is seemingly endless options for albums (some good, others not so good).

But since I have transitioned to mostly collecting German coins, I am finding myself struggling. CAPs Albums have been what I have used in the past but they tend to be very expensive and the last batch I ordered were poorly made (the airtites just fell out).

I like the idea of an album that holds airtites and I like that you can have them custom made...but I the problems I had with them and the fact that they are expensive and massive are downsides.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I just prefer the idea of an album to other storage methods. I enjoy looking at the in a book and not being able to do that has decreased my interest in collecting in the past.

I've seen some people make custom dansco albums but that requires some skills and tools to properly cut out the correct sized holes.

Lighthouse also makes albums for capsules (I haven't ever used them so don't know if it's any better than the CAPS Albums).

I’ve used a nice leather 3 ring zipper binder with the standard plastic 2x2 pages, have also used hole punches on dansco pages but what a pain
