Currency question

A friend of mine found this $20 today. It has a "-" in front of the serial numbers. Can anyone give me some info on this? It is not a star note either.

Actually. I'm not sure how that would get there. I'm quite curious now. It doesn't appear to be an ink smear. I don't believe the serial number heads would make contact in that position either without leaving more of a trace.

 

Is there a dash in front of both serial numbers?

 

That I am not sure of but good question. I will find out in the morning and let you know.

 

Could be a coincidental small ink spot/smear in that spot. I'm not aware of any special plate designation or experimental for the 2006 series.

 

hard to tell from the blurry pic. probably just a spot of extra ink.

 

About 13 years ago, I sold about 2 One dollar bills with a dash on the right side serial number, at the Memphis show back then I got about a hundred dollars each for them. I don't know the value now, but i made my money then.

 

Ok so we took this bill to a coin show close by today. They said for sure an error and they suggested that we send it to Fredrick J Bart and have him give his professional opinion on it. I now have this bill in my possession and took these photos here. I am going to contact him via email. Maybe nothing but it is for sure worth having a look at I think.
