hey i was wondering how you get a hoard or collection noted on a slab or currency holder?like if you wanted to start a collection could you get your name noted on the slab or no?
Each TPG Co has their own way of doing it... They charge you a fee for the Pedigree and to holder all the notes.. This summer I am looking to have my collection Pedigreed..around 465 notes in all.. Contact them and ask.. PMG, PCGS are the two in order that I recommend. http://www.pmgnotes.com/MemberPortal/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/poplookup/Categories.aspx http://www.pcgscurrency.com/index.html RB
thanks =) so in the pedigree box of the submission form you can just write your name or what you want to call your collection?
Well I am not sure..in the case for PMG.. I invited them to my home this August while at the ANA in Boston...when we go over the collection, I will ask about details on this. Last I checked with PCGS a few years ago, they required completed sets in order to Pedigree..this may or may not have changed...just some fyi for you. I would call and get the answer to your questions. RB
hey cga just emailed me back an said i could pedigee them what ever i want for free just fill it in the submission form =)
just do a search online and on this site and you will see. i would recommend PCGS or PMG for currency grading.
A much discussed topic. Stay as far away from CGX as possible unless you want to reduce the value of your collection by 30% to 50%. Sure, you will get a decent price and a two week turn however the flip side is that you will not have graded notes by a TPG that is recognized as a legitimate (understatement) player.
Ive got some ocean front property in Arizona if your interested? That,s kind of the same thing with C.G.A, Who cares about a Pedigree with these people
I agree with much of the discussion. PMG and PCGS are the only two I would consider, IMHO. I believe that the added fee for the pedigree is to set up the registrey in the TPG site. I think that CGA doesn't charge because they will just add whatever verbiage you want to the holder and that's it. Don't quote me but I think that's the deal.
