What to do with a bunch of Cull Buffalo Nickels ? I have many Buffs that I cannot read the dates on. I have heard that there is a way of restoring just the dates without destroying the rest of the coin by using some type of chemical. Is this expensive ? Can it be done at home ? Where & what chemicals would I buy ? Is this indicative of what a chemical (acid bath) Buffalo looks like after process ? Dave
Geez Rick, can't get much cheeper than this. But, does it work ? I'll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion. Dave
Vinegar may take a little longer than Nik-A-Date, but you can buy a gallon of it for less than two bucks.
Yep... just $4.39 plus shipping from Wizard. Just apply to the date area.. http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product.php?productid=1453&cat=177&page=2
you see alot of buffs that are reworked sold on ebay and from what i see they can draw alot of bidding.the sellers are usually up front about it too.i imagin that alot of the no date buffs i see sold on ebay go through a process and are then resold to happy bidders.
