Cud? Dropped letter?

    Is this a cud or a dropped letter(never seen one).

    It's not a cud. A cud is a die break along the rim. And it's not a dropped letter because a dropped letter would be incuse, not raised.

    Assuming the line on your coin is raised (which it appears to be) it looks like a die scratch or gouge.

    Couldn't it also be a possible plating bubble, that is just unusually shaped?

    I suppose so. Hadn't thought of that. I'm no error expert. Maybe Mike Diamond will offer us his expert opinion.

    i would say it's a possible die gouge or break in the field. i did look close and the image seens to be raised Die gouge

    Looks more like a gouge then a bubble in the plating.
