Cud between B and E in Liberty?

    Just a regular Wheat Cent... a 1955D. But then I noticed what looks like extra material in between the "B" and "E" in liberty. What do you think?

    no, a cud must involve the rim.

    Nice and a very well known error. It is often called a "BIE" cent and at one time were very collectable with a good premium. Regretably with the introduction of the internet to coin collecting, this error turned out to be much more common then 1st believed. I have even read that at one time there was a coin group based entirely around this error.

    A die crack would be a crack in the die...
    this is a die chip. A piece of the die fell out. It was a crack at one point but developed into a chip.
