Hello, just wondering what this was and if it had value.
    It says BIKINI JTF-ONE CROSSROADS

I googled a lot and it appears there was Operation: Crossroads and and something about Joint Task Force One in 1947. Dont understand why there is currency printed for it.

    thanks!

Operation Crossroads was the name for the post WWII atmic testing on Bikini Atoll in the late 1940s. This note was printed for use as a souvenir/short snorter. They can sometimes be found with signatures of participants. There are a number of different types of notes that were made for Operation Crossroads. Bar chits from Kwajalein with the Operation Crossroads name on them were also made.

This type is one of the more common ones. The common types go for $30.00-50.00. Here is the face of this type and a couple others.

Japtan Island was a recreation facility set up by the US military for personnel involved in Operation Crossroads and later atomic activities around Bikini and Kwajalein. Notes for use in those facilities were also issued.

They do not come up very often. I have seen very few on the market over the years.
