I got this coin because of the fancy pteruges (Greek for feathers); which are the strips on the shoulders. They are added defense and decoration and can sometimes be seen around the waist. SMNB RIC VII Nicomedia 92 I think that this is coin #95 in my campgate collection-- https://constantinethegreatcoins.com/campgates/ post your pteruges
I forgot to add the more usual depiction for comparison. Also from Crispus from Nicomedia Crispus A.D. 324-325 19mm 3.1gm FL IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES; Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left. PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS; campgate with two turrets and star between them. in ex. SMNB RIC VII Nicomedia 91
Those pieces are nearly FDC. Real beauties. What does SMNB stand for? Possible mint? How many different rulers in your "camp gate" collection?
SMNB stands for Sacred Money from Nicomedia (from workshop B) I have over a dozen rulers from Diocletian (A.D. 294) to Valentinian III (A.D. 425- 455) https://constantinethegreatcoins.com/campgates/
