The dark/bright appearance of this coin drew me in. I wasn't looking for a Crispus, but I was looking for a VOT X in Wreath. A VOT rev has been on my watch list after seeing many on here. I still can't exactly nail down the correct Siscia MM. I think it is a Ric Vll 181 A, not sure how the design of the sunburst fits in. Crispus Bust also seems to have some differences. I also wonder if this is a Follis that I have missed. Crispus AE3 18mm 2.8g Crispus Caesar AE3. 321-324 AD. Obv -IVL CRISPVS NOB C, laureate head right Rev -CAESARVM NOSTRORVM around VOT X in wreath. Mintmark ?SIS sunburst.
There is a workshop at the beginning of your mintmark [?]SIS sunburst that is not clear because of a clogged die. There are five workshops A B Γ Δ Є and all are common
Nice coin! I don't think I've ever seen that sunburst mintmark device. Interesting! Here is my coin of the unfortunate young man, from the mint in Rome: CRISPUS as Caesar, AD 317-326 AE3 (20.48mm, 3.73g, 12h) Struck AD 321. Rome mint Obverse: CRISPVS NOB CAES, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Crispus right Reverse: CAESARVM NOSTRORVM around wreath enclosing VOT X in two lines, R T below References: OCRE VII 238, RCV 16770 A fine portrait of the young Caesar.
Nice coin, I a worn but otherwise close coin from the same mint and another Crispus VOT X coin from Heraclea:
