Got a box of Quarters and a box of Halves from my CU. Last October was my only other box of Halves, in which I found 6 silvers and 4 NIFCs. Well, on the latest box (all bank-wrapped rolls) I found this coin in the first roll I checked > Not sure of the meaning (maybe "CRH Forever") but I took it as a bad omen that much had already been checked. Indeed, in 1000 coins I found no Silver and no obvious NIFCs. But I was able to upgrade about a third of my JFKs, and filled in my last two "non-Ag, non-NIFC" holes, so I can't complain. There was one "colorized Elvis" (on the obverse) half. I didn't even take a pic because it was kinda scratched up and I wasn't interested in it. Upon soaking it in solvent the paint came off easily and revealed this, a 2009D NIFC > This is my second 2009D - the other one being in much better shape. So on to the the box of Quarters. A quick check of those rolls showed no obvious good "enders", no obvious over-weight rolls (due to silver or extra coins), and five obvious under-weight rolls, which even looking at them shows they are missing a coin, which seems odd for BWRs > So I have to hope for W's, upgrades, hole-fillers (not many holes) to make it worth while. But that's typical for CRH anyway.
6 Silvers isn't bad. I haven't been able to search halves in months. To be honest, my back doesn't mind. Quarters and cents have been my bread and butter....but I really do miss the silver.
As described above, only checked the halves so far - don't think "W" made any circulation or even NIFC halves. Definitely will be looking for W's in the quarters, and will be disappointed if I don't find at least one in 2000. Hopefully one/ones I don't have!
