When did the US Mint start making oval coins?

When I raise my digital microscope four inches to get the whole coin in the field, it distorts the image.

I have a fairly large collection of error coins and enjoy them, so if my photographic technique is going to drive the discussion, should I go else where to post them?

No, but try to think about it from the viewer's end. He was just pulling your leg in a perfectly friendly manner; no harm, no foul.

I wasn't making fun of you, but it's important for you to understand that the quality of your photos play an important part in how some of us assess the condition of your coins. There are holders on the market that will allow you to increase the distance between your USB scope and the subject.
