A previous thread got me thinking about die states.

Here's a few examples of tokens produced by cracked dies.
You might have one of these where the cracks indicate wheter it's an earlier or later state of the die.

Warwickshire 135 reverse (I think this one was also used for Midd 522)

Ayrshire 7 (crack from face to bottom shield)

These are great photos and tokens yarm! Thanks for posting them, and you've made a good point. I often compare my Conder photos with those posted by other collectors and sometimes, it is possible to determine which token was the later die state this way.

The die cracks on my Lincolnshire Wainfleet #8 is comparable to yours, perhaps a bit earlier as the die breaks at the lower right are not as extensive. (sellers photos - as always):

I do not have a Warwickshire #135, but I do have a Middlesex 522a for comparison:

As you know yarm, the die crack on my Ayrshire #7 is more extensive than yours. It's currently entombed in a NGC64BN suit.

Very few tokens can compare to the Northumberland tokens, mine is a #19:

Here's a Midd 522 which seems a bit further along, Farthing.

I've seen very few examples of that Northumberland obverse without the huge break.
