    Hello,

I am new to coin collecting, and have been looking through this forum for some time now, and decided to register.

I recently came across the site wizardcoinsupply, and their prices looks quite cheap.
I want to buy some 2X2, and saw they offer Cowen's Mylar Cardboard Flips, for example https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/product/cardboard-flips-2x2-nickel-size.html
What I want to know is, are those 2X2 safe to use? I read a bit about PVC and residue from storage, and would like to avoid it.

Also, does anyone have any experience with this site? do you recommend that I order from them?

    Thanks :)

EranD, I deal with Wizard Coin Supply and have purchased 2X2's from them. Everything seems to be fine with mine. Mylar is very safe for coins.
I guess it doesn't outgas like PVC. Polyproplylene is also safe for coins too. That's the same material used in food baggies.
Just don't let your coins come in contact with the cardboard for any long duration due to possible acids and other chemicals used in the manufacture of it. So you have my okay on using 'Mylar' 2X2's.
Oh, a very happy 'WELCOME' TO coinTalk.

All Cowans coin products are of the highest quality in my experience...they are also priced nicely.

Storage in a box is fine, they make 2x2 row boxes for cheap. However, those boxes should be placed into ziplock bags with a desiccant pack and then into a tupperware type container for storage.

I put my 2x2's into regular album pages, then into binders. That way you can shift them around, put them in date order, etc.

Since the subject has come up, does anyone have an opinion about storing Lincoln cents in 2x2's, long term? I have some that are so old the 2x2 has started to yellow, but the coin looks fine, and others where the coin edges are starting to tone.

Are they in ring Airtites and then 2x2's?

I also store some of the better ones in plastic 2x2's, with a paper label on the outside--that seems to work good.

Yes, small cent Airtites and 2x2's.
