There was a thread last month about mint errors vs. counting/wrapping machine damage. I have a coin that appears to be counting machine damage but I would like to verify that before I describe it that way. Here is a picture. I dunno about that one Obviously something peeled the date right off the coin - but I've never seen one end up that way before.
With a quick glance, I would say counting machine damage. If you have a powerful loupe you should see the scratches flowing in a counter clockwise direction near the damaged numbers. Some are not able to be seen with the naked eye.
