Neat. Funny how much that hoard shown in the article looks like much later Viking hacksilver. Canaanite silver hoard pictured in the article, ca. 12th century BC: Cuerdale Hoard of Viking hacksilver, ca. 10th century AD: But then I guess little bits and bobs of broken jewelry and such didn't differ a whole lot between the millennia. Silver was silver (or not, when counterfeit, as mentioned in the article), and the form it took was pretty similar regardless of the era.
