Besides the look and patina. Coin has pitted surfaces and the hit on the eagle breast. Could we get this one pulled down and photos posted for learning purposes

Okay just reported it but there's way too many fakes on ebay now and that's ebay's fault for chasing dollars anyway they could get them and all the bidiots make it worse! :cigar:

Yep, same fake CC reverse used for all of the other dates; reverse does not match the known VAMs for this date.

Sad, already bid to $441.66; reported.

Pro tip: you can turn your money over faster if you don't take the extra step of burying the box from AliBaba and then metal-detecting for it.

the issue is as with anything illegal the demand grows to get that good i call it the living on the edge rush it's illegal let's get it mindset but what can be done when things are made appealing to the dark side of human kind? and who knows who is investing in this market another grey area that many do not want to tangle with

doesn't matter what the illegal good is as long as there is a demand for it a market will exist

That gouge across the eagle's breast pops right out at me now. Thanks for fighting the good fight.

I suppose showing off your 1804 dollar is motivation for some, but mostly it's just people getting duped, with a large measure of blind greed thrown in.

think if something is illegal what happens? a demand springs up for that good and with that a market doesn't matter what it is just that it's illegal and humans have that seeking a thrill thing going

as for the coin it wasn't illegal so has no bearing on this thread. what does have bearing is how little care people have for shutting anything fake down why most likely many are in bed so to say with those involved in fake good market

I'm kind of funny about buying from ebay. If I see something I like, I check what his/her count is. If it costs over $50 it has to be graded. If it's graded, I check the number with the grading service, then, I might buy it. I saw a late night show that they were selling a set of 1883CC/1884CC/1885CC. It was graded MS65 from NGC. I probably over paid for them, but they were in a set, and looked real nice. I paid $1,500 for them. I was new to collecting, but I really like the set. I've watched the TV coin shows and I haven't seen any sets like it, but I'm sure there are.
With the sparce info I have given, can anyone give me an idea of how much the set would cost today?
    Thanks, guys and gals.

If you have an 1885CC in 65, you have a nice coin. Or is it an 1882-1884 date run?

I should have gone back to my Morgans to get the right dates. Sad to say, the set that I have are the 1882CC/1883CC/1884CC. I haven't been looking for any coins to add to this string of Morgans. The Morgans weren't the coins I've been looking for, but I think I will take a gander at what is out there.
    Thanks for the "heads up."
