I have spent a couple of years researching this piece, and have very little to show for my efforts, other than it's a COUNTERFEIT, forgery, whatever you want to call it. It's very deceptive, although badly damaged on the reverse, as per photo. It is NOT marked "Copy" or any other wording. The edge has very fine, precise reeding. Small areas of the obverse are nearly proof-like. The metal "appears" to be silver, but I can't guarantee it, no way to test. No idea whether it's vintage or contemporary; it "looks" very old, which enhances its deceptive appearance, and, has the "look" of old silver. To resell this coin on eBay, you would need to mark the reverse "Copy" or whatever wording eBay requires. Price, $75 - PayPal or money order, postpaid and insured. Shipped only to the United States. Since you already know it's a counterfeit, and have good images to study, there is no return privilege on this piece, so make sure you want it, and understand the context of my offer. I have no objections if someone HERE wants to open a thread (of their own) on this coin and discuss it thoroughly; in fact, I hope someone does. You also have my permission to copy my images into that thread (Coin Talk thread only), or I will supply new 1200dpi images upon request. I hope this piece goes to an active Half Dime collector who already has a few counterfeits retained for comparison.
