Counter stamped or PMD ?

    The owl on the reverse of this ancient Greek coin seems to be counter stamped on the belly. It might also just be a simple matter of PMD (Post Metal Deterioration ). Can you please express your opinions. Thanks.. Crop 300.jpg AntOwl O.jpg AntOWl R.jpg Crop Owl.jpg

    Nice coin C, but it looks like a filled die or just PMD..:)

    It's not counterstamped - just one of the regular owl types. Probably Antiochus VII or VIII.

    i'm not sure 7C, but i would guess it isn't a counterstamped.
