I noticed this penny in one of my old penny books, I started to look closer at it and noticed some obvious doubling of date, stamp mark, liberty, and in god we trust! Im kinda new to spoting this stuff and interested in what people think of it! Could this be a MD penny or is this the real deal? i took the best pictures i could with my camera so please let me know what you think!

Tyler, multiple threads with the same question leads to confusion.

As I said in your other thread, no.

sorry comp froze up while posting and didnt think it went through! Why would the hand stamp the S after minting?

Mintmarks were added to dies, not coins. Before about 1990 mintmarks were punched into completed dies by hand. Then the die was used to strike coins.
