I purchased this coin along with 30 other capped bust halves from a lady whose great grandfather owned a general store/tavern in Missouri along the railroad. I bought a huge extensive collection and it was all in mint sewn canvas bags. Amazing to say the least. I also got a 1827/6 Capped half from this collection.

This particular coin has evaded me because I don't have a book to attribute this variety. Notice the top of 2 has a crossbar. Please please please help me. This coin does have a nice scratch accross her face =( . But still a nice original piece. The color is a bit off on the pictures due to poor lighting. sorry about that. Tom

Thanks Cointalkers for your help on this one!!

I am not positive, but I believe that it is Overton-107, obv 6, rev F.
    That is an R-1.
    Sorry

Ben should be here soon to confirm.

    But, not the overdate.

    Tom,

It appears to be Die damage to me! Note how the top of both "1's" and the "8" and "2" appear to be cut off...especially the "1's". IMHO, the Die took a hit just above the Date which pushed metal into the Date as well as Northward away from he Date.
