I've been informed that the CDN spread on a NGC MS62 1883-o is $50/$55. Is this accurate? Also, what does the bid/ask spread represent? Is it what a dealer would pay another dealer for the coin unseen? Does it represent an open bid, where a dealer will buy ANY order at the $50 price, or is it what a dealer, looking for that specific coin, would be willing to pay? Thanks!
I stopped subscribing to the CDN a few years ago, but at that time, no Bid/Ask was listed for anything between MS60 and MS63. Have they changed? Chris
Bid is right around $50, given that the generic morgan market is really slow right now I would doubt any dealers are biding $50 for any MS 63s at the moment. CDN seems to always be a little off of what actual bids are.
Thanks Ron. Would an offer of $40 for a MS62 seem fair, in your opinion? I offered $39.99, and the seller countered with $55 on the CDN basis. So, to clarify, CDN bid is $50 for MS63, but no dealer is really offering that amount?
Considering there is little premium for MS 62s I would say that is fair, I often sell 62s as Uncs. And yes considering dealers inventories change daily there bids often do too, making it very hard for the Greysheet to be 100% accurate. For example about a month ago a dealer had a bid of $51 for63s and now its $46 and the CDN Bid never changed from $50
