I don't recall ever having a cent with a die clash. Could this be one. You can see the outline of Lincoln on the reverse. 1951 S Die Clash Obv.jpg 1951 S Die Clash Rev.jpg S/B 1950 S Sorry

Not a Die Clash. It's called a Progressive Indirect Image Tranfser. Ghosting.

I have a typo or two. This is a 1950 S and it may be a die clash not a Dte.

nice example. I've been perusing around looking for a Indirect Image Transfer example just to understand it more.

Yepper, paddyman is spot on. This happened a lot on Canadian large cents and British large penny's.

With that large accumulation of 70 years, it is ironic that I have been able to find several different variations in the same date and mint. In this case I found another "ghost" in another 1950 S. It is much less visible, but it does seem to be there. I wonder if, as a child or as a teenager, I saw something in a coin and didn't know what it was, and just put them in my stash.

Another Ghost? I found this 1920 D as I was sorting another box of early wheat cents. 1920 D Ghost Obv.jpg 1920 D Ghost Rev.jpg
