I've been contemplating what series I want to collect next and got to wondering what the entire series would likely cost. I did this for lincoln cents for the coins I have yet to get and came up with the following by grade g = $1191 vg = $1464 f = 1735 vf = 2166 xf = 3199 Anyway, as I think of what to collect next it would be handy to check out the overall cost of the series to do a reality check on how long it would take to finish it. I can do this myself, but it occured to me that maybe there's a resource on the web that already has this available. Anybody know of such a thing?
I've not heard of such a resource on the web; however, for me it's more fun researching this myself using different price references such as numismedia.com, completed eBay auctions/BINs, etc. If I might suggest, a Franklin set is fun to collect and can be done without major costs.
Well, you seem so enthusiastic, I feel like a monster breaking it to you like this....but, if you're like most of us, there is no reasonable time frame as to when you'll be done putting any set together, because as long as you're still breathing you'll be constantly upgrading, or replacing or starting over...it never ends! I think all collectors come back as ghosts because we have too much unfinished business with our collections. Sure, you may get every coin in a lot of series, but, will they ever be done? I think not. Guy
Well said, I appreciate the comments. I keep forgetting life is a journey, not a destination. Never really thot about doing Franklins, I like that idea, and so will my budget. If we do come back as ghosts at least we won't have to worry about getting fingerprints on the coins anymore.
I think Franklins is a nice one for you. Silver is going up and you can get MS ones for silver or real close. You might want to go for as many FBL too as many don't have many premiums either but don't try that 53s
I'm warming up to Franklins. Another thing I like is I don't expect you need to worry much about counterfeits. If it's not magnetic and the correct weight you can be pretty sure it's silver and it would take a real idiot to make counterfeit Franklins out of silver.
Jezzzzzzzz Ussssss not nerd enough to do your own calculations ???? And you are a coin collector ????? NAhhhhhhhhhh get outtt of here !!!! )
