I haven't seen the copper versions of these pennies, so I'm wondering if there is at all a difference in coloring or appearance between the proof copper and proof zinc versions. Need to fill those slots in my 7070, so I figured I might as well buy them from the mint before they stop selling them on June 15. Would have to spring for the silver set to get the coppers though.

I believe the proofs were all made with the 95% copper composition, only the circulation strikes and possibly those for the mint sets use the 1982-zinc composition.

Yep the proofs are all copper. The ones in the uncirculated sets are copper also but in the satin finish.

Thanks that makes more sense. Seemed weird that they went out of their way to describe the copper content in one description but not in the other.

The 2009 clad proof and silver proof sets contain 95% copper cents from the San Francisco mint. The 2009 mint set contains 95% copper cents from the Denver and Philadelphia mint. The circulation cents are the only cents made with a majority of zinc. I guess that makes the following amount of cents:

    Proof's from S: LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4
    Mint from P: LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4
    Mint from D: LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4
    Circulation from P: LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4
    Circulation from D: LP1, LP2, LP3, LP4

I count twenty different coins not counting any variations.

I forgot to add that you can pick up the proof Lincoln set on ebay for around $10.00-$15.00.
