Well, Christmas was very good to me. Before the day of I found a war nickel in my mom’s change and a 1911 cent the day after. In between this was Christmas Day, and great new addition. The new Innovation Dollar! 5C51B34D-5DA9-4998-8B6D-F01AE0BB0CC8.jpeg D0CA515F-DF7F-4886-AA7D-A47F4230E209.jpeg
Tar and feather me if you wish, but I like the amount of empty space on the obverse.

Oh, and I got a gold dollar from 1856. It’s interesting to see the major die clash on the reverse. One of my favorite designs, both for Liberty and the wreath, which consists of corn, cotton, tobacco, and wheat leaves. This was intended to show the produce of both parts of nation. Despite the message shown on this coin, things were not going well in the US that year. Bleeding Kansas was not good. The Caning of Charles Sumner was even worse. At least Auburn was founded that year. 0A200E29-6A0A-4385-B896-E46739C6337B.jpeg 295BB6E0-7E0F-4DBB-B27F-0133C7D21192.jpeg
Here is the ancient part of my Christmas.
Did you all get anything coin related this year?

Very nice but 13 stars would have made the obverse sweet.

I like the small letters, but to each their own. I think I like the letters just because they’re so small.
