I have a 2003 nickel... That seems to be made out of copper(or some copper mixture, at least). How much would this be worth?
Welcome to the forum Osisris990 The copper coloring can be caused by a variety of errors from being a penny planchet that was struck as a nickel, to a nickel that has been "copper washed". Can you post a picture or scan, as its impossible to determine from your description. There is one easy test you can perform that will help us in case you can't post a picture. Get a ruler and put your copper nickel on one end, and a normal nickel of the same year on the other end. You should be able to balance the ruler on your finger at exactly the middle. Is your nickel lighter or heavier? Hope this helps.
Ok, it took a while, but here are some pictures... http://www.os-incorporated.com/heads.JPG http://www.os-incorporated.com/tail.JPG
