I found a 1891 p quarter yesterday at work that was the same color as the penny. I've seen environmental damage that changed colors before but this quarter is pretty evenly colored. It was just interesting to see and I wanted to learn about what caused the color to change. 20200509_112737.jpg 20200509_112737.jpg 20200509_111556.jpg 20200509_111613.jpg 20200509_111647.jpg

Missing the clad layer on both sides is extremely rare. What does it weigh? ~ Chris

What Chris said. It looks like it has had some environmental exposure.

I'm inclined to think it's environmentally damaged. Definitely not missing a clad layer let alone both sides.

1981 quarter, my bet is environmental damage but it doesn't hurt to weigh it. Welcome to CT and keep on looking.
