Hello all, I am new to collecting and trying to network with local like minded folks. Looking for a coin club locally was one of my first steps. I have found an on line reference to Coos County Coin club but I cannot track them down. No phone number, email, website, address, nothing. If anyone here is a member or knows the scoop please let me know. Thanks!
Welcome to the forum SoaringEagle. I checked out the A.N.A. website to see if they have a member club in Coos Bay, but they don't. It doesn't mean there isn't one in your city, but if there is they're not a member club of the A.N.A. They list four clubs in Oregon. They're in Bend, Long Beach, Portland and Salem. Are any of these cities near you? The A.N.A. website is www.money.org if you want to get details on these four clubs. Happy hunting! Bruce
Hi SoaringEagle! Sadly I do not think the Coos County Coin Club exists anymore. Florence is our closest Coin Shop (Not Counting Pawn shops) to Coos Bay. I actually have a Wooden Dollar from the Coos County Coin Club show from July 21-22, 1973. Steve
Florence coin show this weekend 18-19 Aug 2012 Great coin shop in Reedsport, Oregon also along the coast.
Typical newb posted on a thread that last had a post in November 2010. Steve has not been on here in a good while: "Last Activity: 05-13-2011 08:51 PM"...
Great attitude NOS! Thanks for the contribution to the thread. I just mostly wanted to thank SilverForLife for the help... I have not been on this forum for a long time either, thanks for the welcome back.
Watch it there, I wasn't coming down on you at all but rather wanted to point out that as is typical, a new user (SilverForLife) bumped an inactive thread and that Steve has not been on here since May 2011. I was trying to do you a favor by telling you this instead of having you wait for a response from someone that hasn't been on here in well over a year. You owe me a thank you, not sarcarsm.
Silver For Life bumped this thread, that I started, to give me info pertinent to my original question. That I am thankful for. Regardless of how you meant the comment, you quoted me. Steve befriended me on this forum when I joined as we both live in the same small town. I have not been on here in ages so did not know Steve was no longer here. The only out of sorts post on this thread, that I remind you that I started, has been by you good sir. Calling folks "newb" for helping out is bad form, and I kindly ask you take it to a different thread. Thank you.
Bumping threads that haven't had any activity in nearly two years with random messages is seen in bad taste on most forums and is typically done by new users. It was clear as day to me that the two subsequent posters after SilverForLife probably didn't notice how old the thread was and most certainly that Steve had not been on here in a good while. I tried to do you a favor by telling you of his inactivity and not expect a response from him anytime soon, if ever. This is the thanks I get. I don't need this drama, I really don't. SoaringEagle, this conversation has ended.
