Hello - new member speaking (and no, my name is not really Mark but I thought that Mint Jim just didn't sound right). I started collecting coins at age thirteen (thirty-plus years ago) on a paperboy budget of $10-15 a week. I was in it long enough to acquire a complete W.L. half set. I got back into it briefly in the mid-80's. Having been an eBay'er since '99 and having re-awakened my interest in coins, I have gotten back into it. It sure has changed a great deal since the days of G-VG-F-VF-EF-AU-UNC-BU. It kind of boggles my mind that any given coin can be worth $20 in MS67 and $2500 in MS68. I'm thinking that it's time for a new prescription. Just wanted to say "Hi", thanks for allowing me to sit in from time-to-time, and I'm looking forward to drawing upon the vast knowledge of my fellow numismatists. Cheers! Jim in FL
I thought this forum was cool until you Censorship (old dude) director took over. In the main coin forum "anything goes" I thought! Except my threads I guess.....total BUL%$#@! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post NO MORE PHOTOS until my thread is returned!!!!!!!!
Welcome to the forum Mint Mark. This is definitely a cool forum, and there is a TON of experience and knowledge represented here. I'm suprised no one else grabbed up your user name. I see your cousin around the forum from time to time too....his name is Question Mark
Welcome aboard. Thanks to the knowledgable members, this is the best online coin resource I've foiund since returning to collecting.
Greetings James; It is sure nice to hear those old terms used again. Like sweet music. I think you will find this forum very informative and we do have several people who can tell you what you want to know, or can sure find the answers. Two or three of them have the word "administrator" under their logo, but then there are a few more regular dudes who are up there with the best of them. All are willing to help, so feel free to present questions. Also don't hesitate to offer your oppinion of maters that you are learned in and have experience with. So......
I knew I went wrong somewhere... I'll have to work on that learned and experienced part.. Welcome Mint Mark!
Thanks for the hearty welcome! Indeed, I was just trying to think of a name and I was totally surprised that nobody had snapped it up. I have found that forums (I think it's really "fora", isn't it?) such as this one foster a great sense of comaraderie. And with my re-awakened interest in coins, I consider myself fortunate indeed. Thanks again!
