found this bill just sitting in the drawer waiting for me when I got to work.:smile I wish I could find one without the marker on it and not hashed so much.
I could be wrong but I'm not so sure that note hasn't been altered. But I'm definitely not a currency error guy.
I don't believe it is possible to have that error as the FRB numbers (12 in this case) are printed with the FRB seal (L in this case). Therefore since they do not line up together, one is in the right place, another totally off, I think that this note has been altered. Also there is a dark/very worn spot where the seal should be, making it look like it was rubbed off. Other opinions guys?
you may be right... I was so excited I didn't look real close at it. let me take another scan to get a closer look.
yep I think it has been altered. the scan does not show it but the L has red and blue specs in it like it was done on a printer. my bad. oh well I only paid a buck in change for it.
I agree, it's a magic trick called fraud. There are a bunch of examples on youtube, here's one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAfYDBoBC2s&feature=related It's probably the reason for the drawing/writing on the note, to prove it's the same bill. It's an altered note.
yep that's what it is I have a friend that owns a magic shop. I should have thought of that first. Last time I talked to him he was telling me a story about a magician friend of his that got a "scotch and soda" coin trick as change from a store.
