The 2024 Gryphon coins for the Cook Islands are collector's coins, available in both gold and silver, and feature an ultra-high relief design of the legendary Gryphon (a hybrid of a lion and an eagle). Struck using Smartminting Technology, these coins are part of the Numismatic Icons series, celebrating ancient coinage, and are issued with the portrait of King Charles III on the obverse. These coins are produced with low limited mintage and a unique antique finish.
    Key Details:
    • Creature: The reverse of the coin features the Gryphon, a mythical creature from ancient Greek mythology.
    • Series: The Gryphon coin is the fifth release in the Numismatic Icons series.
    • Technology: The coins were struck using Coin Invest Trust's (CIT) Smartminting® Technology to create extraordinary Ultra High Relief (UHR) images.
    • Obverse: The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of King Charles III.
    • Antique Finish: The unique antique finish, combined with high relief, creates a three-dimensional effect.
    • Limited Mintage: These coins have very low worldwide edition limits.
    • Other Motifs: Some issues include a cicada, a popular motif on ancient Greek coins from the city of Abdera.
