    It's a cast counterfeit/replica. The bumpy surface is the dead giveaway.

    This is a genuine piece. Notice how smooth the coin is.

    Thanks for your opinion. We had no idea where to go with this. The more we look at it the less genuine it looks.

    These replicas have been made for years, even in cereal boxes if I remember right. Probably 1000 of these for every real one, and in a non collector hands more like 1,000,000 to one.

    Don't worry, you are not the first by far to wonder if these are real. Common question.
