I hope someone can help me determine if this coin is a reproduction of a Continental Congress coin, or if it is authentic. It was part of my grandfather's coin collection I received for xmas this year. I think it is a repro. Thanks in advance.
most likely a reproduction ... examine the rim of the coin all the way around for a "seam" also usually reproductions have a dull "thuddy " sound.
That looks to be made out of pewter (not copper at least), and although I won't profess to be a "Fugio expert" I have seen plenty. Here's two pictures of a very nice condition Fugio (not mine) to show you what they look like.
Good because I can't remember if the images I have of the one above (not the cent) are authentic or not, heh. I didn't note it either way (my that's helpful, eh?), so.... fuhhhhgeddaboutit.
That looks oddly like a fake.... Can you get a photo of the rim...I would say either a Electrotype or a cast fake. Speedy
It does look like a fake, but all of the ones I've seen (real or not) seemed to all look like fakes as well. I saved two images of that particular coin (and I never save replicas, unless noted), but they look fake. It's an odd coin IMHO.

Yep--- Well let me put it this way....sell it as a fake if you want to sell it...there are some people that collect fakes....and some that wish they could own a real one will settle for a fake. BUT PLEASE---even if you don't sell it....mark it somehow...that its a fake. Speedy

those are completely different. They have outlines, the name of states, a smaller sun and sun dial that the first set. Ruben
Sorry! Ruben, I saw Fugio in the title and when I went to post images I wasing paying attention and posted the Fugio *cent*. Different coin, yes. I shall forever pay for it in this thread, I know.
