My favorite coin in my collection is a 1922 peace dollar. It is probably the ugliest coin in my collection but it is my favorite because my great uncle gave it to me when I was around 10 years old. That coin was the start of my collection. Your favorite coins to collect are the Indian cents.
My favorite coin in my collection is this 1943 steel cent. I found it on the beach a few years ago before I was really into coin collecting. I was digging around in the sand one night while babysitting my little cousins as they played and found what I thought was a regular penny. Then I flipped it over and noticed the wheat back and decided to keep it cause it looked cool. Then when I got back to the house and saw it in the light I thought the color looked a little funny but I figured it was just because it was in the sand and seawater for a long time. Soon after that I remembered that they made steel pennies during WWII but I couldn't remember what year and I didn't even know for sure what years exactly WWII took place (I was only about 15 at the time I found this penny). I took a magnet off the fridge and it stuck to the penny, and just to double check I tried sticking the magnet to a regular penny and nothing. I was really really excited about this find and it is still one of my favorite coins in my collection. Even though it's only worth a penny I love it. A guess at your favorite coins to collect, Washington quarters.
My favorite coin is my 1911 V-Nickel. It's my favorite because my Grandmother had saved this one and a 1908 V-Nickel since those were the years of her and my Grandfather's births. I chose the 1911 belonging to my Grandmother since she was the one who found the knot on my side (leading to the discovery of my cancer) when I was 2 years old. She gave them to my Mom and my Mom gave them to me. The worth of this coin is priceless to me. Your favorite collection is the Lincoln cents.
My favorite coin in my collection is a 1939 D Jefferson nickel with the reverse of 1938. It's my favorite because I like the design, it's a high grade example, and it has some awesome toning on the reverse-some lime green with orange, very unique and vibrant in certain lights. I bought it on eBay and paid about $67 for it. As far as value I'm not really sure, nor am I concerned. I think you're favorite series to collect is Ike dollars.
For some reason i see you as a mercury dime guy as for my favorite that is easy the 1958 flying eagle penny that got me collecting again (a gift from childhood friend who also collected)
Lincoln cents have always been my favorite -- they're the most affordable, easily tone to wild colors, and (used to) have a gorgeous high relief obverse of Lincoln's bust. Specifically, 1909 VDB has been my favorite year for multiple reasons: -First year in the Lincoln series -Unique variety ("VDB" on reverse) -Commonly known to have unusually strong strikes -And most importantly: It's the first lincoln cent I've ever gotten! Here's a picture of the coin that started my whole collection off for me (and a big thanks to robec for taking a fantastic photo of it!):
It's hard to pick favorites but there is one that I really like. A good friend gave me a 1918S Mercury dime. It is a fairly worn piece but I love it because its from a friend. Since a friend gave it I didn't have to pay a dime(haha) but I think it's worth about $3-5. It is one piece that has inspired me to start working on completing a whole Mercury Dime collection. So personally I think it's priceless.
my favirote coin i have right now (which isent my fav type) is my silver 1960 5 franc even tho i dislike forien coins this is the only one worthy to be in my binder i recieved it from a very helpful person was not baught here in the usa and it was free to help my collection of coins to grow cant say how much this single coins mean to me
My favorite, currently, is my 1795 Flowing Hair half dollar. Picked up recently for a little over bid. Why? Probably because it is one of the only ones that I could ever afford. A nice deal, and very attractive-- to me.
If anyone hasn't read my story....I posted under General Discussion....I'm celebrating 40 years cancer-free this year! Love sharing the story.
