Well I had so much fun with the first one that I think it is time for another.

Often I am shocked by how high some coins have risen in value over the past thirty years that I have been collecting. I remember the days when I could buy nice AU Morgan dollars for about $6. But I think of my Great Great Grandfather who pulled a couple Turban Heads out of circulation at face value and wonder why he didn't get more. And my Great Grandfather who bought a roll of each coin every year from every mint and wonder how he didn't buy gold at face value. But I know that money was different and it wouldn't be much different than me buying modern bullion at cost. They mostly collected whatever they could find in their change and at the bank. My Grandfather, on the other hand, was the first collector of my family to buy from a dealer.

In the 1930's, my grandfather bought a set of eleven Trade Dollars and one other dollar coin from a famous dealer. I just couldn't believe what he paid for the collection.

The contest will be for YN 17 and under. The first to answer within a one dollar range will be the winner.

The prize will be a Presidential Dollar 4 piece proof set.

The question is: What was the total invoice amount that he paid for all twelve coins and who was the dealer.

    GOOD LUCK!!!

$30, I have absolutely no knowledge of dealers, except heritage (mentioned above) and vcoins in general (not a dealer but a directory I know)
So I`ll just say Whitman and $30

Prices are not that far off, but knowing the dealer is going to be the key to the answer.

If only the max age was 18, because I'm 90ish percent sure of the seller.

Louis Eliasberg was perhaps the greatest coin collector of all time, the only one to ever complete US collection. But he was never a dealer.
