Okay, so I've been pondering having a contest, but I'm not sure what I could offer as worthwile prizes. Considering it's a Halloween themed contest, I thought about sort of a joke prize of a bag of ugly, circulation foreign coins. But then, I thought maybe I'd hate to get those if I won. If it helps, my idea is for a contest where people show off their ugliest or scariest coins, like the "Wild Man" Condor token I saw in an earlier thread when I first joined. What can an tight budgeted collector of foreign coins offer up as fun little prizes?

I think circulated foreign coins would be just fine. People will participate regardless of the prize...you just have to make the difficulty of the contest correspond to the prize. Since your contest sounds like it's going to be easy to participate in, then your prize is fine. If it was going to be a RickieB style "crazy hard" contest I would say better prizes are needed to get participation. But, I would enter the contest you just described. ;)

I'm sure I could come up with something fun, but I really want to do this contest. Time will tell.
