I believe this coin to be a Constantius II, RIC VIII. Arles 56, BUT the obverse legend (although having some damage) clearly reads CONSTANANTI_VS PF AVG. (extra . . . AN . . . ) Has anyone ever heard of this? If so, how common is it ? (I have never come across it before.) How does this affect the value of the coin? Is my attribution wrong?
I have not seen it but suspect the condition and lack of mintmark would keep its market value down to very little.
@J.A. The closer I look at this coin the more I believe that you are right about it being Constans. (Similar to RIC VIII Arles 58.) Thanks, Doug. I suspected as much. Curiosity value only.
