I bought this thinking it was Trier, it was listed as Trier as well, but now I'm leaning towards being from Rome. What do you guys think?

The top one looks Trier with the stick like figures.

It's the same coin. I thought that too, but there are plenty from Rome that look just like it.

Edit: the ex looks like TP or TR, but I can't say its not RP or RB

I think the images are strongly suggestive of Trier. The exergue definitely looks to begin TR, and the positioning is right for the P to be off-flan (in fact, it even looks a bit like vertical line in a P remains, for TRP). I might want to double-check, but I don't think any of the fallen horsemen-to-left issues from Rome had T's in the exergue. Only the ones spearing two enemies-to-right, right?

We talked about this on a different site (I'm jjfnumismatics), but I forget to look through my bag for any Triers.

Wanting to share in the pleasure of fallen horseman coins -- I won a Constans AE2 Fallen Horseman from Thessalonica today, partial silvering, with a truly lucky auction pick from G&N. What's interesting about this one, I think, is the globe in hand. Didn't realize the Thessalonica issues had that:

Ah, you've got one of these, lol!
    And a Gallus Trier...
Okay, thought I remembered one but nothing jumps out as Trier -- so far... You're right, these are hard to find for sale. ROMA Numismatics had a least a couple reasonably priced... Don't see anything now

    Nice lookin' coins, randygeki ...

Geesh, I still don't have a fallen horesmen ... that really should be one of my next targets, eh? (so many coins, so little time)

Please give size/weight. It might help in comparing to other coins.

    Nice addition!
Sorry just got off work, and posted this when I had left.
    It's 1.9 g. and 16.5/17mm

Just on comparing the style with Helvetica's. I would say Rome.

The portrait is certainly Rome. I guess that mark left of the RP is a scrape rather than a T. The light weight Trier (which I do not own) in the RIC plate looks nothing like this so I'd say Rome is safe.

Bummer! I was hoping you'd get a verdict one way or the other, but was pulling for evidence of Trier mint. Maybe there are others not yet listed at ROMA? Theg were very reasonable for the quality

The good news is that I needed one from Rome, so I'm not really dissapointed :D

Above is my photo of Rome mint coins from my horseman page. The one on the right is the match here but notice that all have 'the nose'. Rome!
