I have, (with help), narrowed the attribution of this coin down to either
CONSTANTIUS II RIC VIII Siscia 342 or CONSTANTIUS II RIC VIII Siscia 344.
Can anyone tell me , please, which one it is (and why?).

The difference between the two is the mintmark.

    342 is •ASIS palm branch and 344 is •ASIS•

On yours, I can see the first •, but can't make out the rest.

I agree. Therein lies my problem.
I was (sort of) hoping that there might be another way of defining which it is.

yeah TC, this one isn't going to pan out for a full attribution, but you know it's a siscia mint constantius ii fallen horseman...so I wouldn't loose any sleep about not knowing the details beyond that.

Agreed, Chris, but I don't like writing on the card 342 or 344.
Might be one to 'sell', (when I get around to selling any).
    Thanks.

Sell it to someone who does not worship RIC. Die duplicates in this period are not easy to find. They made a lot of coins and used many dies.
