Reviewing my ancient Roman coins, I found this bronze one of Constantius I Which was struck in Antioch and weighs 2.78 g. Reverse shows Jupiter holding Victory in front of the Emperor. In lower center there's a crescent over A or maybe Pi. I also wonder whether Victory is holding a branch with her left hand. What attribution could this common coin have? It's been a long time I didn't tackle such simple issues, I think.
Victory often holds "wreath and palm." The wreath is a reward for victory and the palm is also a symbol of victory. The ruler (Constantinus I) is receiving Victory on a globe from Jupiter. ANT is the mintmark for Antioch, and the symbols in the field are "control marks", in this case a crescent [arbitrary] over Delta (officina 4). It is RIC VI Antioch 63a, struck c. 297, a post-reform radiate.
Hello. I bought this coin for $22 today. Gentlemen, can you tell me what is the Mint? What is the date of release? Thank you very much.
