OK well, I was going to wait on this one, but I probably need to redeem myself for that Helena. I'm pretty sure you guys will like this one better... Not quite a junk bin buy, but not bad on the wallet at all.
That's definitely a nice coin and from the Antioch mint. Your collection is getting better all the time!
Sad to say but you won't ever get a coin of Constantia. Not only a matter of money, but availability. Crispus and Licinius II are both easy coins to get. At least for quick hole fillers in this set.
Thanks friend! Working on the family tree graphically has really helped me sort out who's who in this convoluted genealogy.
Also, Hannibalianus will be a stretch, but doable. I'll likely never own a Nepotian - there's one for sale at FORVM now for "only" 13k.
Very nice coin - quite a difficult family tree this one, though not as bad as some, don't forget Crispus :smile
Just for today - today I'm on fire! Gotta cool the jets for a while though, which is fine. It'll give me a chance to catch up on all the attribution, photography, and research.
Always fun :thumb: Just incase you don't have it: http://www.constantinethegreatcoins.com/ The more I read about Constantius the more I liked him, the more I read about Constantine the more I didn't!
Nice Genius type, and a very nice large coin. While I have long advocated there are great deals in small coins, rarities for a tiny fraction of the cost, I have to admit there is something "cool" about a great big ol coin. I pull out a sestertius or Justinian bronze every once in a while to take in how cool they can be.
This one's not as weighty as my 1st and 2nd-century sestertii, but it's definitely a decent chunk of coin.
