What do you guys think of this? http://harlanjberk.com/unitedstates...le=Morgan+Dollar&inventorygroup=us&linenum=19 Why is are GSA holders so much more expensive? Ruben
Looks like a decent price for that coin. I have a couple of GSA CC Morgans, but I also have nicer "regular" CC Morgans that grade higher and cost less. I think the principle draw to them is the history behind the coins. Collectors are willing to pay a little extra to own a piece of it. Ever seen a Redfield hoard Morgan in its original Paramount holder? Every one I've seen looks way over graded, but collectors will pay a lot more than those coins are supossedly worth just to have a piece of something so legendary within the numismatic community. I know I did.....
You're definitely not necessarily getting a nicer coin when you go with one in a GSA holder. I agree with BigsWick. I think that people just like the fact that it was one of the GSA dollars...kind of like how gold coins from the Wells Fargo Nevada Hoard sell for a lot more than their counterparts often do.
