After acquiring this Connecticut copper I did something I've never done before and attempted to attribute its die variety. I have always been a type collector and haven't gotten that far into the weeds, but after having this coin in hand I couldn't resist taking the plunge. After comparing my coin with the photos on the Coinfacts and Notre Dame websites I realized that its reverse die has a very specific diagnostic that is different from most of the other varieties. The branch in Liberty's hand points directly up to the second dot in the colon after "INDE" on this coin, while almost all of the others have the branch pointing to areas well above the legend. The closest photo I could find was for Miller 37.8HH. The reverse looked to be dead on, while the obverse seemed to have a slight difference in the two "star" like devices above the bust. Am I on the right track here? I would appreciate any help in getting to the finish line. I can see now how this could become addicting...
