Congrats to everyone who won an award! I recognize a few names on the list, some of them members here. Apologies if I don't tag you (feel free to shout out if you won an award). Some notable accomplishments: @Lehigh96 won his 3rd Best Presented award for a really cool set from Greenland @Jaelus wasn't content with just one award this year, so he had to go and win 2! (oh, I won my 3rd Best Presented as well...) You can see all of the awards here: https://www.ngccoin.com/news/articl...?preview=0822fa8e-1baf-48e7-b45b-5892b0820726 I highly recommend you set a couple of hours aside and check out these sets - there is some amazing passion and quality in these winners.
Congrats guys I really enjoyed looking at both your sets. I've added links to my winning sets to my sig if you'd like to check them out.
Two in one year? You need to slow down a bit man and give the rest of us a chance to catch up! Haha, seriously though... I'm not sure if anyone has ever won twice in one year. That is incredible, and well deserved from what I see!
Gratz guys!! I knew I didn't stand a chance this year as my best set only rated 18th, but hopefully by next year I have a set or 2 in the running
Where your set ranks doesn't mean as much to me... I'm not chasing "best classic" or "best modern" set. To me, the presentation is the most important. "Best Presented" and "Best Custom" sets are the ones I care the most about. I've won Best Presented for a set ranked in the 40s... (twice) It's not about how much money you spend.
Thanks Jason, and congrats on your 3rd Best Presented Set as well. I am definitely going to spend some time exploring your set further, those coins are very cool. Shout out to Jaelus for 2 big wins, and I would also like to give a shout out to Revenant over on the NGC forum for his Best Presented Set award for a very cool Venezuelan set. Revenant's Turning Pain into Suffering--Venezuela Reform Coinage Type Set 2007-Date I think it is very cool that we both branched out from our US 20th century series sets and brought that same passion as we turned to the dark side. Now if you will excuse me, I have to get back to working on my descriptions for next year's registry awards, lol. All the best guys, Paul
I'll be honest... I really didn't expect my set to win... that's just a throw-together grab-bag piece-meal of my real set. If you're actually interested... you can view the full custom set here. The individual coins of the winning set are just a small piece of the full set: https://coins.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/CoinCustomSetView.aspx?s=27306
I'm caught up with you guys now since that puts me at 3 wins! I'm super happy with the two big wins for 2022. This was the first year I fielded some custom sets that I thought were competitive. The custom set that won took over a year to get ready as it was part of a larger undertaking with NGC to standardize world pattern labeling and flesh out their catalog. I made a post about it in the world forums a couple months ago. Another is a custom PL set - you might like that.
Congrats @physics-fan3.14 Nice honor, well deserved plaque and sweet coin to commemorate your accomplishment.
Got both of mine in the mail today as well. Same as you, peace dollars. One of my plaques had the wrong set name on it and I had to call them. They're getting back to me tomorrow.
