Picked up an 1899 Silver certificate and he threw these in. First is a Feb 17th, 1864 Confederate $2. Extremely clean so of course have doubts of being authenticate, curious what everyone thinks. The paper feels thin, but I have never touched an old bill so that may be normal. I will upload the others when the camera recharges. Thanks!

It looks totally legit. I can't make out the serial number, but if you google two dollar confederate bill and the serial number you should be able to find out if it is a known counterfeit number.

Looks right to me. The ink oxidizes after so many years and turns brown.

And yes much of the obsolete and confederate notes were printed on different paper. It will feel a light thinner or lighter.

Completely authentic, no doubts. Second bill is a T-40, the T-39 has straight steam from the loco. Confederate paper was VERY thin. The deuce is one of my favorite later issue Confederates.

Thanks everyone. Prior to posting I found the list of known serial numbers and they didn't match. I am a coin guy so this is new to me. I may have found a new interest though, not sure if that is a good or bad thing though :)

I was on a trip so I took them to a few shops and all confirmed they were real. I bought a holder page to add them to my binder, thanks!
