Hello Friends, Welcome... I couple of days ago brought some Confedrate notes, its was dream come true for me. One of notes has a Error that the back is seeping to the front of the Bill. I brought 2 bills that are the same .The One with the error effect has more deeper Rev printing then the other one. Is this a common occurance or something rare? Another Bill #A 9216 has a overall cutting on the bottom right hand that showing another bill starting out. Is this considered a Error of the times/age or just another bad cut on Confedrate Money. Online I could not find much expect to buy or sell sites. I also read that there is a lot of fake or duplicated conferated money rolling around.I checked my serial # with a site that showed the fake or duplicated ones. Mine are not on the list,Thank GOD. Is there a site that someone watching my post could guide me to .....where they show actual auction results of the Confedrate Money. I did try Ha.com but that just showes to me that they are listed there, but not the results or High bids. What does it mean to have A or B or C on the top half right hand corner of the notes I have a A ,B, and C Bill. Does having a A alphabet in the Bill add to value kinda like having a Star Bill note? Appreciate your views and advise for should I grade it. God Bless Beck
A, B, C, etc. is the plate number position. No value difference in almost any case I can imagine. These are not error notes, the miscut nor the "bleed". CSA notes are notoriously poorly cut. Whatever bleed that exists is a artifact of printing or handling/storage. I would not grade these notes, not particularly valuable, unless you just want them holstered for handling and such. If you post your other notes we can advise you if one is of particular worth, but most CSA notes are pretty common and not particularly valuable. Though the serial is interesting on the latter note - they are handwritten and not sure if there is a writing artifact on that one or they left a digit off on the right hand serial. Makes it at least a curiousity. I have a decent CSA collection and do enjoy collecting them, missed on some chemicograph CSA backs last night at Heritage... And to see past results on Heritage you need to create an account and log on. You can then see past results and high resolution photos. You don't have to bid on anything to register...
Not sure I go along with CSAs being 95% phony. If you're going to collect CSAs and are worried about counterfeits I would recommend a copy of Counterfeit Confederate Currency from Whitman. You can view it here: https://www.whitman.com/store/Inven...f-Counterfeit-Confederate-Currency+0794822908 Good luck and happy collecting.
