This is a rather challenging set and it took me just a couple of years to find it. This set only consists of two coins before the Japanese mint in Osaka reduced the weight down from 7.1g to 4.1g. Hence this is the reason why this set is called the large type and the other as small type. The Gwangmu 10 (1906) large 1 chon is rather easy to find in reasonable condition. On the other hand, the 1905 1 chon is a complete different story. The Korean catalog has no breakdown of what the mintage of both coins are but just lists the total of both years as 11.8 million. Obviously the 1905 1 chon is tougher to find. These days, old Korean coins struck under the Japanese occupation are getting more difficult to find for unknown reason. Or it could just be I have already collected the easier dates If you have more time to enjoy the rest of the Korean coins of this era, please feel free to visit my page: http://www.gxseries.com/numis/koreatype/koreatype.htm Warning for those that are still on dial-up connection - it's rather heavy.
