Well, I'm on vacation and I've been looking through my collection ooing, ahhing, and occasionally wondering why did I put that in my collection? Anyways, I found a commemorative that I forgot I had. I'm fairly certain it's a commemorative anyways? I attempted searching "commemorative, commemorative resource, mint resource, eisenhower commemorative" through the search but found little to nothing. I'm interested in IDing it, learning about the art/artist, especially on the reverse, mintage, and other such fun facts, so any commemorative resource you have would be greatly appreciative. In case you were squirming in your Lazy Boy or office chair thinking, "Well, let's see it!" Here it is. Sorry...I'm still trying to learn how to photograph bronze (I'm assuming it's bronze) properly.
It's a medal, not a coin. Possibly an inaugural medal. No idea whether it was mint-produced or privately produced, and it's tough to tell from those pictures.
I agree - it is a medal, not a coin. If it was a US coin (commemorative or not) it would have a date, denomination, LIBERTY and the required mottos (IGWT and EPU).
Check this site out: www.loriferber.com This might be what you are looking for. Search: dwight d eisenhower inaugural bronze medal 1953. there is a date on the medal: January 20 1953. also: united states of americal under the covered wagon behind liberty. Good Luck in your search.
