Those of you who have been readers of this forum for several years may well recall my love affair with Netherlands ducats. There has never been a coin that has fascinated me so much. And in years past I posted about them extensively. They are one of the most important coins in history, they literally changed the world. But they are also one of the coins that has had extremely little written about them. And even less written in English. Also, as some of you know I have mentioned a book that I have been helping a friend with for the past several years. Most everybody, around here anyway, knows me, but few if any, in the US at least, know him. His name is Darek Jasek and it has been my pleasure to work with Darek on this project. In Europe, his name is quickly becoming "the" name on this subject. And that's not just my opinion, that's the opinion of noted European authors and researchers. It is important that people realize that nothing like this has ever been done, not here and not in Europe either.
