i recently picked up a small lot of low grade coins that had a few neat things i was interested it. this was not one of them. however, i did have fun identifying this coin. what helped me was a recent thread here on the reverse type, or i wouldn't have figured it out probably.

make a guess as to the reverse type and who is on the obverse. i'll give you a hint, one of you had a nice version of this coin.

now for the counter mark: that's pretty interesting isn't it? anyone seen one like that?

    sorry for the picture. :sorry:

The coin has quite a bit of wear, but it has a very cool look about it (nice cozy eye-appeal)

... ummm, is it similar to one of my coins (or am I off of the hook?)

no, you posted a reply to the thread, but not with a coin.

    you're off the hook stevex!

by the way, the coin is 9.6 g and about 21 mm.

I don't know. But the portrait looks like an A Pius, maybe?

Hey, that coin looks mighty familiar. Glad I could be of assistance. It does seem to have a similar reverse.
